Universal Pictures have just announced that the film we've been waiting for, Jurassic Park 4 is going to be released in 3D on June 13th 2014! Frank Marshall's prediction was correct and we WILL see Jurassic Park 4 on screens in 2014.
There are no words that could describe how happy Jurassic Park fans are at this moment in time. Personally, I've waited for this for 12 years as I'm sure many of you have too. This is amazing news, exactly what we wanted to hear. What a fantastic piece of news to set off the year! 2013! It all begins here.
There is apparently no director attached, but Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver turned in a latest draft of the script earlier this week, so I imagine a director will be announced soon. Joe Johnston's schedule is free as far as I'm aware, but now Spielberg may have time. But I imagine he'll want to focus his time re-writing Robopocalypse which recently got post-poned.
Some may question the time they have to make the film. Usually a Jurassic Park film will film the year before its release giving many months for the post-production to take place. But this has been announced the year before and the pre-production on these movies are very long. It does beg the question - is there going to be enough time to make this movie or will it suffer from being rushed? You do have to trust the professionals, but these films usually do get a longer production schedule.
But either way, we have a solid release date from the studio itself and this will be the year for Jurassic Park 4 news! Bring it on! Comment below or get talking in the forum about your thoughts for the movie. And let's all say - THANK YOU!

Frank Marshall teases more 'Jurassic' news soon

With the announcement of Jurassic Park 3D showing in IMAX cinemas for a week starting April 5th, the producer of Jurassic Park IV Frank Marshall tweeted the link, stating more #Jurassic news in incoming.
This is good news - it could mean a director has been attached or Universal greenlighting the film, or just some new news from Frank Marshall himself.
Time will tell!

Genetic Biologist records commentary for Jurassic Park!

Recently I was contacted by Jason from the company Scholar Tracks and
he informed me that they have recently recorded their own commentary for
our favourite film, Jurassic Park.
Scholar Tracks are a small company based out of Ohio and have just released an audio commentary for Jurassic Park by a Genetic Biologist, Todd Dehm. He has an MA in Biology from the Sam Houston University and has performed years of genetic research, most recently at the noteable Jack Labratory, and is currently in the process of opening his own labratory for privately contracted genetic testing. During the commentary he discusses his scientific opinions on the realism of the film, personal anecdotes, and predictions for the future.
The commentary is currently available on iTunes, Amazon and Zune stores for $2.99.
Sounds like it's worth the price, so check it out!

Long time reader Asees
tweeted Kennedy/Marshall's Twitter account, asking simply "Jurassic
Park 4?". What's great, is whoever manages that account replied, stating
that it's "in the works" and provided a link to a Collider article from July where Frank Marshall states that Jurassic Park IV is aiming for 2014 release date.
They also put a hashtag to #JurassicPark4 which is what I've been using on our Twitter account for a while now.
So what does this mean? Is the film still scripting? Has it reached pre-production? If it had then Universal would have greenlit it by now. It's very confusing as to exactly what's going on but it doesn't seem likely that we'll actually make the 2014 release date that Frank Marshall aimed for.
And that's unfortunate.
It could be that Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy don't have much to do with the account and whoever runs it is just going by the same news we know.
